Is this imbalance ruining your health?
What strange food combinations do you really like?
I heard someone saying a while ago that you really shouldn’t add butter to a bacon sandwich as it ruins it.
I completely disagree with that - butter makes it ten times better (and ketchup too of course!).
Another one I know of is that my dad always has a glass of milk when he eats fish and chips. I grew up with him doing that, so it seems normal to me, but outsiders seem to think it’s a strange combination!
I’ve mentioned this before, but personally speaking, one thing I often like to eat together are mackerel (or sardines) mixed with blueberries.
It normally gets a look of disgust when I tell people, but don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it (and no I’m not pregnant).
I’ve already managed to make Sophie a fan of it too!
Not only do I love the taste of mackerel, but it also gives a nice big dose of Omega 3.
Omega 3 fats have been shown to be really effective at helping to support brain, heart and eye health, in particular (amongst other things).
One major cause of inflammation in the typical western diet are Omega 6 fats.
While a small amount of these are needed, too much is very inflammatory.
These are fats found in processed vegetable oils, ready meals, fast foods, pork products, margarine, and much more.
Basically, the typical western diet will almost always contain too much in the way of omega 6 fats (which can increase inflammation in your body, the last thing you want if you suffer with health problems), and too little Omega 3.
In some ways, Omega 6 fats are like a burning campfire, and Omega 3 fats are the fire extinguisher.
The typical imbalance between these two types of fats can lead to things such as joint pain, fatigue, skin problems, depression, difficult concentrating, and irregular bowel movements (any of those sound familiar?)
Health experts generally agree that the ideal ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 fats would be 1:1, but commonly most people have a ratio of around 25:1!
The result of this is that a huge number of people suffer many chronic health conditions and life changing symptoms.
What’s more, this imbalance doesn’t only affect your health but also how you look – adversely affecting how much fat you carry and how much muscle you build.
Essentially it leaves you feeling worse AND looking worse!
This is why the health authorities recommend almost everyone increase their Omega 3 intake.
Like I say, I eat mackerel to help me with this, but as much as I love it I just wouldn’t get enough in my diet to reach the recommended levels, which is why I also supplement with fish oil.
However, finding a good quality fish oil is often difficult because they often aren’t strong enough or pure enough to be all that good for your health.
That’s why I consider “Advanced Fish Oil” to be the best, most effective and pure fish oil supplement on the market.
We offer it in two forms – as a Liquid, or as Capsules..
