The Toxins Affecting Your Health
Did you ever see the news story about the woman who got cancer after using talcum powder?
Basically, a US court ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay this particular lady $110m (£85m) because they didn’t adequately warn about the cancer risks associated with the powder.
While the company say there is no proven link, this kind of pay out would certainly indicate that there clearly is a link of some kind.
It just goes to show the effect that toxins found in some of the products we use on a day to day basis without really thinking about it can be having on our health...
A toxin is essentially any substance that is dangerous to humans.
Basically, it’s a poison.
There are a huge range of toxins in this world, some of which you’ll be more aware of than others.
What’s most concerning is that many of the products that we are using each day will contain a very large number of toxins that have been shown to have some very scary effects on the body.
As an example, as we apply products to our skin and hair we will absorb many toxins from the soaps, shower gels, talcum powder, shampoos, deodorants and even the water we clean ourselves with.
It’s not only skincare though…
For example, mercury fillings at the dentist can be a huge problem for some people (not everyone, but some).
Also, the food and drink we consume will contain things such as pesticides, growth hormones, heavy metals and antibiotics.
Toxins will also be in the air we breathe, especially in busy cities.
They can be in our houses both in the materials used to build them, as well as any mould that may be lurking in our environment.
Consider also, the amount of time most people spend in doors nowadays...
Did you know indoor air is thought to be up to 5 times more toxic than that outdoors?
We’ll even be allowing toxins into our body by wearing clothes that have been contaminated with toxic materials (often when they were cleaned)…
Dry cleaners, for example, will commonly use one of the most toxic substances that there is – a toxin that is banned in many countries.
Some people might think that worrying about things like this is becoming obsessed.
But I’m not suggesting you lock yourself away in a sterile environment and never use any skincare products again so as to minimise your exposure.
But some changes are relatively simple (swapping one product for another) and can have a big impact on your health (and, therefore, your symptoms).
The fact is that when you want to feel as healthy as possible you need to do whatever you can and reducing your toxic load can only help.
It’s a very commonly under-looked, under-appreciated aspect of someone’s health.
Obviously trying to use products that don’t contain these toxins is a step in the right direction.
However, it’s not always easy to know what they are as many companies will tell you their products are good for you when they really aren’t.
This is why we are so fussy about what goes into the ingredients of our supplements at www.AutoimmuneInstitute.com
We use the finest quality, most effective that we can find. You can see the full range here https://autoimmuneinstitute.com/pages/store
It’s also one reason we offer Advanced Coconut Charcoal. This is an activated charcoal product often associated with supporting toxin removal – for example, it’s shown to help with reduced flatulence / gas after eating a meal.
