Have you ever caught any of the “Trust me I’m a doctor” that was on TV a while back?
On one episode they looked at the effects of fish oil on people’s health…
They split the group into 3 and either had them eat regular servings of oily fish, take an omega 3 fish oil supplement, or a placebo pill.
After 8 weeks their tests showed that people who took an omega-3 (fish oil) supplementdaily or ate oily fish twice a week for 8 weeks saw their omega-3 indexincrease 7 - 8%.
This movedthem towards the 'Low Risk' category of heart attacks and strokes.
This was tobe expected to some extent – omega 3 fats in fish oil have been shown to helpsupport heart health, as well as brain and eye health.
It didn’tstop there though…
They alsolooked at 10 different Omega 3 supplements and highlighted not just theimportance of sufficient EPA and DHA content in the product (as that’s where the health benefits really come from), but also its “stability”.
Basically, some poor-quality fish oils, or ones which aren’t handled or sourcedappropriately, can go rancid, and supplementing with them would potentially domore harm than good.
That’s a few of the reasons that I recommend almost everyone who cares about their health supplements with something such as “Advanced Fish Oil” each day unless they are getting at least 3 servings of oily fish (mackerel, salmon, sardines) each week.
Advanced Fish Oil contains much higher levels of the important EPA and DHA Omega 3 fatsthan almost every other brand.
What’s more though is it’s also much better absorbed, is sustainably sourced from wild fish(not farmed), and has been independently tested for PCB’s, Dioxins, Furans, PAH’s and to ensure the absence of detectable levels of mercury and other heavy metals.
Cut a long story short?
Fish oilsupplements are proven to be very beneficial for your health, and Advanced Fish Oil is considered to be one of the most potent, pure and effectiveones on the market.
I will hold my hands up and say it is NOT the cheapest fish oil on the market.
You WILL getsomething cheaper from a well-known shop on the high street, for example.
But to befrank, most of those are products / fish oils I wouldn’t put in my body becauseof the poor quality.
This is an area where you get what you pay for and at the risk of sounding hypey /marketingy (is that a word?!), I genuinely consider it to be the best fish oil available.
